Hello, This is the site Of Glassix, The
Greenfaulds High School (Cumbernauld, Glasgow) Young Enterprise Company 1999.

This site has been created by Adam Smith, Operations director of the company to inform those interested in the company on it's progress and development. (click on his name to view his website)

This site used to feature details, progress reports and a diary of company events however the company lasted one year, as do almost all Young Enterprise companies.

Glassix' main product used to be decorated glassware, selling highly popular hand painted glasses and picture frames.

At the beginning of the Young Enterprise year we sold our (popular) shares in the company and had a raffle with a first prize of a signed RANGERS FC Football. The draw took place on the 29th. of October.

We also held a no-uniform day which raised almost £400, attended the annual mid-term review at Strathclyde University and attended the Annual Young Enterprise Conference at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow. The conference hosted such speakers as Craig Brown, Jackie Bird and Sir Tom Farmer, as well as a team building event called 'Beats Work' in which the achievers formed a huge Samba Band.

As a testament to the time and effort placed into our company, we won runner-up in the best presentation category at the final review, held at The Thistle Hotel in Glasgow on Wednesday the 12th. April. Our prize was a £50 cheque and a quaich. Pictured below are Carrie, Katie and Sharon being pictured with the quaich for our local paper.

Our company donated £120 of our profits to charity. The Charity we chose is Cumbernauld Physically Handicapped and Able Bodied (PHAB) Club. Pictured below is Doreen Rendall and Graham Halls from the club receiving our cheque. The second picture is a selection of members from the club with our cheque.
